Choose a Morocco rental car around your passengers, luggage, transmission, parking and complete quote. A practical ALCARS planning guide.

A rental car should fit the trip you are actually planning: the people travelling, the bags coming with them, the places where you will park and the amount of driving you expect to do. A larger vehicle is not automatically the best choice, and the lowest daily rate is not always the lowest total cost. Use this guide to prepare a clear vehicle enquiry with ALCARS.

Start with people and luggage

Write down the number of adults and children, then list the bags. Include pushchairs, child equipment and any unusually shaped items. A vehicle can have enough passenger seats without having enough boot space for everybody’s suitcases.

For example, a couple with two cabin bags has different needs from a family carrying three large cases and a pushchair. Send the rental team your actual luggage list and ask whether it fits the proposed vehicle with all passenger seats in use. Do not plan to carry unsecured luggage in passenger seating areas.

Think about your daily use

If your plans mainly involve a hotel, city appointments and occasional short trips, ease of parking and a manageable vehicle size may matter more than extra cabin space. If you expect longer journeys with several passengers, consider seating comfort, luggage capacity and the transmission you prefer.

Ask your accommodation about parking before choosing a vehicle. A photograph of a hotel entrance does not tell you the dimensions of its parking space or the access route. Confirm any height or size restriction directly with the accommodation.

Confirm the specification you need

Vehicle names and photographs do not confirm every detail. Before reserving, ask the team to confirm:

  • Automatic or manual transmission.
  • Passenger capacity with the required child equipment fitted.
  • Boot space for your luggage.
  • Fuel type and the required return fuel level.
  • Any equipment you need, such as a child seat.
  • Whether the offer is for a specific vehicle or a category with a possible similar substitute.

If an automatic gearbox is essential for you, say so at the start of the enquiry and keep that requirement in the written confirmation. If a similar vehicle may be supplied, ask which features are guaranteed for your booking.

Compare total cost, not just the daily rate

Compare quotes for the same dates, pickup time, return time and locations. A different return time can affect the charged rental period. Ask for the complete rental total and its currency, then identify any optional charges separately.

Keep the rental price and security deposit distinct. The deposit is not the same as an insurance excess, and a vehicle’s daily rate does not tell you how either works. Ask how the deposit is collected, the conditions for its release and which payment methods are accepted. Confirm the insurance cover, exclusions and assistance arrangements in writing.

Also check the mileage allowance. If you have not finalised your itinerary, explain the approximate journey you are considering and ask how extra distance would be charged. Do not assume unlimited mileage unless your quote expressly includes it.

Match the vehicle to your arrival plan

For an arrival at Mohammed V Airport, share your flight number, landing time and luggage requirements. Confirm the meeting point and what to do if the flight changes. Our airport pickup checklist explains the handover preparation in more detail.

For a pickup in Casablanca or Mohammedia, give the exact meeting location and time. Ask whether delivery is available there and whether a charge applies. A clear meeting plan is especially useful if you have another appointment or a hotel check-in to organise.

Check the vehicle at handover

Before leaving, check that the supplied vehicle meets your confirmed requirements. Try the luggage space, locate the main controls and adjust your seat and mirrors while parked. Record the condition, fuel gauge and mileage with the representative. If something important differs from your confirmation, discuss it before accepting the handover.

A short message that helps us advise you

When you contact ALCARS, include your pickup and return dates and times, locations, passenger count, luggage list, transmission preference and any equipment needed. Add the flight number for an airport arrival. With those details, our team can check availability and explain the conditions for a suitable vehicle.

Browse ALCARS vehicles or ask our team about your trip. For general booking questions, read our rental FAQ.
